When Sephora approached Zorbit Resources to dress its wildly popular store-branded lipgloss in animal print patterns, the design company responded in style by putting a decorative spin on one of its stock components—a two-piece spherically shaped pot with a screw closure. To achieve the intricate printed pattern over a three-dimensional curved surface, Zorbit turned to a technology used by the automotive industry—a special water transfer technology that applies film to a surface through a hydro-dipping process. The limited edition package has proved to be wildly popular on shelf.
